I like my quiter Holiday times these years. I use to shop all year long also and be ready by December first except for the last minute things for the kids. I like to give the Grand kids the money to buy what ever they wanted and didn't get from Santa. My grand daughter loves to wait till after the season when all the stuff she wants is on sale. her mom taught her well. LadyJ

Now, I been a very goody goody little boy all year, that means that Fat Santa this time will come by the front door? cos, last time, he got stuck in the chimney and the house was filled with smoke!!!

I love making gifts, but I also love to shop...
but I also love to cook & bake sweet delights
I think a good mix for Christmas....can I get on your list for the knitting gift? :)
OH!! I Miss Miss Miss my Grandmother's knitted gifts each year. Hats & scarves & mittens! She used to knit me skirts & vests too...and those beautiful bed spreads...

Though Jewish, Christmas has always been a special time for my family, both, as a kid in my parents home and later in my home. Christmas was not a religious or spiritual time for us, but more so a family time and we all loved to give and to receive. I hate that some people object to the display of the Nativity scene or Christmas decorations. Something I look forward to every year; I go to the Methodist church with my girlfriend every Christmas eve and always get lost in the beauty of the music and even the message from the pastor. You poem, by the way, is great!

Good advice, Rose, and they need to think about Christ's birth and goodwill towards men, not who can get the biggest, shiniest gift or whoh spent the most money! That's nuts!~ Great reminder; well done!

Thank you for the lovely reminder Rose. Since the kids are all grown up and all the kin folk gone it's not what it use to be but still my favorite time of year. We so a special Christmas page year at TWF so keep this in mind.

Ahhh dear Cuz as you well know I do dearly love Christmas and even though I am not a Christian in the sense of my beliefs I to think we all get just a little more spiritually inclined at this time of year and also family orientated. I love the lights, the colors, the decorating and the foods of the season and yea even love to see that first snowfall.
