Take a Little Time
To Spread a Little Christmas Cheer
December 17, 2009
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout
I walk along the quiet roads,
Where so many are lingering around,
Some are warming by a fire,
Others rest on the cold, damp ground.
I reach into my pocket
As I take a quick count of heads,
Before stopping at the donut shop,
To share with those who hang their heads.
They never asked to live this way,
They need to have acceptance and love,
Why do they feel so rejected,
They are one of God’s children from above.
I offer round the coffee and donuts,
As I take the time to chat with some,
As I listen to their stories,
What life was like, now treated like a bum.
Their families have shunned them,
For what they couldn’t understand,
They couldn’t seem to accept,
The reasons for his actions, why he ran.
They were once looked at as HEROS,
Before they lost their way,
For all they had gone through,
and carry with them, day after day.
Next time you go into the donut shop,
Purchase some coffee cards for a few,
For most of them are where they are today,
Because they gave their all, to me and you
Love and Blessings,
Christine
Be always safe,
Karen

all my thoughts about homelessness
& the rejections & misconceptions...
the entirety of poverty & isolations…

Because they gave their all, to me and you"
Thank You Rose For Sharing This!
