Truth this face is in the mountain and not too far from where I grew up, They were blasting the mountain to put in the highway and his face just happened to be there as the mountain seperated but as a child I really thought he was there to guide us. Anyone who goes to Newfoundland makes a special trip just to see the face in the mountain which is as plain as the nose on your face.
Paul's poem reminded me of this one.

The Face In The Mountain,
In Dear Old Newfoundland

Many years ago in dear old Newioundland

There was an old man we came to know,
He said one day he’d leave this world,
He knew just where He wanted to go,

He pointed to a high wall of stone,

He said look up on the mountain there,
I’ll watch over and guide you each day,
We knew he told the truth because He cared.

We missed this old man dearly,
His smile and gentle kind way,
But He kept His promise to us,
For we see Him there everyday.

Not too far from where I lived,
He rest upon the mountain side,
Where He promised to watch over us,
And be our caring guide.

I love the symbolic visuals of your mountain Rose!
This is a wonderful spiritual gift even from him.
Mother nature surely offers us undeniable perceptions
if only we take moments to see
like kickin back in a jacuzzi with a cocktail :)
and peering into the glorious canvas of sky
creating bounties to see....

Gee I never seen this face in the mountain when I was stationed there in Argentia. I went to St. Johns several times it was a nice city. I really enjoyed this poem, Rose. Thanks for the read.
