I'm sitting here and my mind is blank, I want to write but all I can think of are my novels and how to get them published and read. Sometimes I just thing my mind is gone astray.

Gone Astray
February 17, 2010
Written by Rose Marie Rideout

Just like a ship wreck out at see,
The words don’t come so willingly,
I can’t seem to think each day,
Like something else is in my way.

I don’t know what is wrong,
I don’t seem to understand,
Why I can’t concentrate,
When I take pen in hand.

I have a heart so full of love,
Another gift from God above,
I too have often shed a tear,
Because for others I do care.

It hurts me when I see them cry,
Though I wipe the tears from each eye,
I try to help and comfort all,
To pick them up each time they fall.

So what else is there for me to do,
But ask the why’s of you,
For I feel my mind has gone astray,
Hope it will return another day.

Wonderful job sis, and by the way try a Margarita, it also helps. Believe me I have had many days like this, and they are frustrating days believe me.

A couple of Coors does wonders, one starts talking and the words seems to don't know when to quit!

When the words come, Rose, THEN you will be able to express yourself....words that are "felt" rather than forced.

Just relax and let God guide you and ask Him to give you the words/inspiration; that's what I do when I do my stories! It works, each and every time; try it! Good write, Rose, and love the piccy! Well done!

Yes, Rose, Mark's advice is sound, relax more and things will flow, maybe not quickly at first but they will; don't press too hard or the bloom dies...

Rose, you mind hasn't gone astray, you're just trying too hard. Poetry is something that must...MUST come from the heart otherwise it sounds phony. If you try to push the words to find the rhyme it sounds phony and you cannot do that! You must let it flow on its own.
Stop trying!!! Get up, get away and think of something else and before you know it your mind will be in the grove and the words will flow.
Markie
