Love your methaphor here cuz...yes love can be elastic and hold things tight but also stretch a little to allow for expansion, sadly it can also be stretched to a breaking point and once it snaps there is no fixing it. Hope your band nevers gets stretched cuz....

Loving another person long term is truly like the stretching of a rubberband as on some days the band may be loose and those day will go without tension yet other days will find us taut with tension but true love mixed with understanding and patience will keep the band from breaking... Good poem, Rosie.
