Tossed a coin
and watched it spin -
flat world turned into a sphere
between sorrow and moonlight
red burden of burning waters {or}
sad curtain of silver frozen -
a snowy skirt on a dancing mountain {girl}
- lies written on snow disappear
as gently and surely as a sunny pirouette
- fate dances atmospheric/polyhedral
and I see the Janiform female head
the bridled horses
the head of the Amazon
where’s my reason gone?

This meditation on a scene (made public in a coin) from the history of female interiority is a fascinatng piece of contemporary poetry {poetics}. The tentativeness of the vision/epiphany (reinforced by the bracketing technique)is what I most like here ... a poem to ponder on all kinds of levels.
Mystical and enchanting and the language you have chosen adds to the glorious alchemy of that spinning coin. I love the relief you paint with your words - can almost feel the contrasts between the thinness of the base metal and the embossedness of the intricate engravings between my fingers... The desire to rub its surface is akin to that of a genie's bottle. There are worlds within worlds captured between the upward/downward revolutions... all brought to a standstill by the measured pace of your lines. Quite hypnotic! xx
