Through days and nights
I don’t know how,
everyone ended up
blind and confined…
Thick poison imprisoned the sky
and our lungs shared the evidence
of crime behind tall buildings.
On screens like a mirror maze,
glitter and laughter colonized
brain cells reduced to slavery.
We could not wake up until
we realized the horizon;
an intangible line became
the signature of infinity.
It sounds like science fiction but sadly it is all to real. I think we know how but the sheer magnitude of it is mind-boggling. Intriguing write Axilea.
the terminator expresses the defining line on an orb where light and darkness meet -- yet it is the gray which defines everything else -- mankind deals poorly almost always subjectively with gray issues(intangibles) -- until we are at last able to see the defining line of dark and light -- apathy is a plague indigenous to modern man -- with the technology of today's propaganda we are all subject to becoming worthless sheeple -- following the pied Pipers with their political ambitions and the ultra wealthy into their schemes to utilize us as replacement parts and slaves for their self- envisioned eternal lives -- THINK! -- dare to imagine! -- too few engage in the process -- Axilea it is good that you have chosen to "Share" -- perhaps some will be awakened -- I bid you love and peace my dear friend -- Jon Michael

In the age of Dumb and Dumber, Dumb rules
as in the Land of the Blind the One-Eyed is king..
once we saw the pollution, the smog, we learned
what it was; seeing emotional and intellectual
diminishment in quality requires a keener view.
As ever, Axilea, superior writing.
This reminds me of that great young adult fiction trilogy, "The Tripods". Earth had been invaded, had hypnotized us via tv, and we earthlings, unsuspecting, went joyfully towards them in droves, enslaved by the glitter and chintz of televised lies.
To me, this is about the same thing--that we can become mindless robots, seeing only what others, like the media, tell us to see; meanwhile, around a corner, travesty reigns, that were we only more mindful of, perhaps we could thwart, correct--change...
But mindless masses, unbeknownst to us, hold the real power--build the pyramids--the great walls of China--hold our children's brain cells in our palms... to turn over to the world?... to what then?
The driving force behind many of us who write, is to bring to light those dank corners and make them known, in hopes that by so doing, that horizon will be a more vibrant, a more lovely sight to view. The message is to "Share" that brighter vision.

With the picture and your lines my mind jumped to the mustard gas fields of WWI, and from there to the chemical warfare of the Gulf wars and all the new info that is slowly seeping out about coverups and such...good write you made us think.
