I lay in my bed
And stare blankly
At the television,
Unseeing,
Not hearing,
For my mind is full
Of you.
You consume me
And I don't know
Who you are.
You are
A daytime puzzle,
A phantom
In my night,
A name I silently cry
In my dreams
Only to forget
Upon waking.
Are you
An amalgam of men
I've known in life?
Or someone unique
I'm yet to meet?
For now
You are
The touch of my hand
And the whisper
Of my voice,
But someday,
O! someday,
It will be your hand
And your voice
I know
In the night.
