I am 50-years-old.
You would think
I would have figured out
By now
What I want to be
When I grow up.
I have
A gazillion college credits
From what seems to have been
A hundred schools;
I've explored many majors,
Taken endless aptitude batteries,
And met with guidance counselor
After guidance counselor,
Yet still I remain
Undecided.
When I am brutally honest
I can freely admit
That I simply love school,
That choosing my classes
Is like stepping up
To a smorgasbord
With an empty belly,
And the main reason
I've yet to graduate
Is
I am prone to choosing classes
I want to take
Rather than those
I need to take.
But I can see retirement age
Fast approaching
On yon horizon, and
It's high time
I get serious...
Isn't it?
