To see the truth in

To the devotion

But as difficult as it is
For us

All the more pitiful
For them,
For in condemning us
They are proving
They cannot possibly have known
The purity and
The joy
That comes from
The sharing of souls,
That we do.
The French have a saying… Viva la difference. Certainly it is the difference male and female, but it can be other differences that make the children stronger genetically. It is sad that people have such narrow views of life that your poem addresses. The end of the joy and love overcome prejudice.
your emotions expressed here are true and heartfelt. i have seen much of this especially while i was young, 6 decades ago when i was an adolescent growing up in Oklahoma. so sad the same still exists today.
