It goes against my upbringing
To allow myself to dream,
To imagine what if
You were really mine
And a part of my life
In every sense.
I have fought hard
To deny my feelings,
Working myself
Into a neurotic lather
In vain efforts
To turn my back on you.
But you know what?
Someone, a trusted friend,
Has assured me that
There is nothing wrong
With how I feel,
That it is, in fact, healthy,
Much healthier than stressing
Over something so natural
As being a woman
Attracted to a man,
So I’ve decided that,
For however long it lasts,
I’m going to allow myself
To relax, and
To quietly
Dream.

You can't meet Bloody Mary, but you can drink a Bloody Mary, go to sleep, and meet your knight in shining armor. If not, Blood Marys are affordable...
Sometimes all we have, all we are allowed, all we can call our own...are our dreams especially when it comes to affairs of the heart. We don't choose who we fall in love with and when that love cannot be returned, no matter the reason...yes we can dream!
