“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart,
and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for
that which has been your delight.”
Kahlil Gibran

Poem Artwork

There is distance between us
Unlike any we've known before,
Caught in our parallel worlds,
Seeking, always seeking,
Our minds and hearts
Straining,
As the portals of space
And time itself
Slowly, inexorably close
Between us.
You've always
Been with me
As my friend,
My confidant,
My protector,
And my love,
A bright shadow of
Profound substance,
My kindred soul;
How will I carry on
Without you?
How long before
We find our way back
To Us?
Surely this can't be
Permanent?
Surely not now
After so long?
Remember me, my love,
Think of me
As I will you,
Know that I remain
Here, always here,
Somewhere between
Dreaming and Awake.

Beautiful. I read it as a love letter to someone you miss very much and want to come back. We all have those feelings if we are human and have lost someone.

Sad sentiments indeed that many have exome experience with, a sadness seeking resolution and does so, as you say "dreaming and awake."
