This one is my favourite so far, i have read it many times, it is very inspiring and i feel that it will touch many poets out there. I believe that we will be still and hear your voice, and our reward for that is to have the opportunity to read magnificant pieces such as this from you.
Yes He does and if we will only be still, we would hear...Oh, that background sound brings back so many memories...back home in Cameroon, West Africa this was on the radio every 6pm

Your Words are an angelic blessing within poetry. I can honestly say as I was reading "Be Still and Hear My Voice" I feel like no matter all the grief & traumatic events that have wounded & weighted down my heart, or the perils of life encounters that I somehow feel embraced because I still remained within the boundaries I was ment to be. I am carrying out my life as it was intended for me to experience, and that includes all the hard times & sorrow. And even after all that I have not crossed paths with destruction. I never carried hate, or revenge, or bitterness towards others who caused me harm-I still remained a loving heart-stuff like that. It's a feeling of still being loved when there was no-one to truely love me here on earth. Now that is a very nice feeling. This Is A Lovely Poem of Purity & Depth.

Just exactly what I needed to read this eve, getting ready to retire praying for sweet sleep.........a comforting poem reminding me to lay the paddles down, lean back and let God drift my canoe in the direction of his choosing, drifting by the blows of his wind, banking in his timing. A profound invitation to reflect on one's life and journey. Inspirational as well as spiritual. Recommended to read for calming and soothing of the soul. I will take this as a gift and thank you for your wisdom.
Well you got me back for a second helping brother Orey. I don't know what it is about having peace that brings us joy. I come to the conclusion that the world is like a radio. So loud and blaring that we can't hear our own heartbeats. But when there peace we can hear our own music and God singing in us. Without a doubt in the world it is the greatest music we will ever hear in our life. But like you so humbly described we have to stop and listen. Again, I am blessed by your words and continue to follow God's voice in you because his light shines through your words.
This one had to come straight from the throne of grace. God is a gentle God who rewards us for our obedience. I have even been scolded. (that was a real wake up call) Thanks for sharing!!!

What a great reward for the spirit of the soul, armed with a writers pen...to listen as you write from the heart and not the head...the humbleness to hear the Creators voice in all that you said....is clearly evident in Be Still and Hear My Voice....Thank You Sir for this wonderful blessing...
Be Still and Hear My Voice is an expression of faith in ones Creator written with great beauty of language. It's message gives one the promise of living eternally in Heaven after fulfilling his/her purpose in life.
Enlightening, Compelling and Insightful are all words to describe this wonderfully written devotion in poetry. Richard Lee Orey is an author who is in touch with The Author and Finisher of his faith. It is my hope to see this type of poetry organized into one book of devotions for people to have as a nutrient that adds strength to their level of faith.

This poem touches my heart. God declaring to speak to us if we will just give Him our full attention and offers hope in Him always. To me it says if we will only listen, He can direct our paths to his fulness in Him. That is the true riches. Very well spoken. Thank you, it is very beautiful.
This is a great one. We need more of these. Very inspirational. And it is true; he comes to you when you are still. Surronding yourself with beauty is a good place for contemplation.
This is, indeed, a gem, Richard. There is something so peaceful about being surrounded by water. I think that lakes are one of God's greatest gifts to us, and you have captured your moments of serenity and communion with your Creator in such a tender yet powerful way. Much, much enjoyed!

WOW. That is so powerful, yet incredibly calming. I'm not in the least bit religious, but can see the spiritualism in those words.
This gift from your soul is quite a reward in itself to anyone who reads these empowering words. The jewels of wisdom and compassion that spill from each line serve to deepen not only specific challenges in life but entire lifetimes of "keeping on keeping on." A masterful write from a blessed pen.
Richard, if I may call you that, you have no idea how much this means to me today of all days. Today, I did away with a morman baptism and was baptised as a believer in Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit, something I was led to do. I write this still tingling with the feeling of the Holy Spirit with me. It is beautiful in all ways.

When we hear the voice of God, we would do well to heed His words, for it is He who has written our book of life and He who directs our performance. The repeated lines makes this much like an ancient chant that called all to worship Him. This is, simply put, an excellent poem Richard. The cadence is like a drum that draws the reader deeper and deeper into the inspiration of the verse.

He, Who builds the storms, can take them down; I've seen His hand squash storms flat. All that remained of tornadic clouds was the cloud itself: no rotation, no lightning, no precipitation, just perfect stillness and peace. Thank you. Saving this to reflect on time and again, especially when storms rock my world.

The more I experience, the more convinced I am that we must follow our inner pullings, voices and desires or we go against the order of the universe. Yet Paul tells us that our labour in the Lord is not in vain for indeed we have a resurrection body to look forward to.
Until then we labour in our faith intellectually, emotionally, physically and of course spiritually.
Be still and hear My voice is a timely exhortation.
