Tomorrow's Another Day

I see it all in your open face
The tensions of the day
Let’s lock the door securely
Putting everyone away

We’ve finally found the moment
When we’re together all alone
A precious solo time for us
That we can call our own

Let’s turn a little music on
Slow ballads are always fine
We’ll light a candle or so to burn
As you put your hand in mine

Then be with me without a word
Just nuzzle close and near
Let all the world be far away
My whispers all you hear

Oh, share with me, my darling
And know my touch and feel
Share with me and know for sure
Our love is truly real

Let’s take it slow and don’t let go
As we hold our bodies tight
Just lie with me and share your love
As we sigh a lovers’ delight

Tomorrow’s another day, My Love
That we don’t have to face
Till the sun comes up and lets us know
We’re part of the human race

So stay with me and share our passion
Putting everyone away
Our love will keep us safe, Dear Heart
Tomorrow’s another day

Our love will keep us safe, Dear Heart
Tomorrow’s another day.

I just love the way you wrote the 7th stanza, the way you word the change from privacy to awareness of your connection to the rest of human race. You just became one of my favorite writers. Thanks so much!

The Heart's Way by Rebecca McKeehan

Love is universal and not limited to the most perfect among us. In this collection of romantic short stories and poetry, love comes to those who are decidedly imperfect, who possess very real human flaws, scars, and challenges. Awaiting us as we are.
