I’ve often wondered when observing nature
why God created the male of most species
to be more colorful, more beautiful than the female.
Perhaps it serves to capture her attention
and then capture her attentions.
You may feel that men are not beautiful like women
but you are not seeing yourself through a woman’s eyes.
To me, you have always been a beautiful man.
Not because of your outward appearance
but because of the hidden heart and soul.
In your chest beats a heart created for love.
Within your outer shell dwells a soul of greatness.
You have spent a lifetime admiring, appreciating women
Enfolding those close to you in your unselfish love.
Oh yes, some men are truly beautiful.
In the way they protect, nurture and love women;
in all the intimate nuances of being a friend and lover
They are most beautiful when they open their hearts
and share all its treasures of joy and pain....
when they can simply be who they are without masks.
I see you, feel you, I treasure the treasure
so allow me to admire you as the beautiful man you are.
Oh I see the Beauty of Men :):) Well most men that is..there are exceptions to that rule of course, but then the same applies to women.

I thank you La belle for you are so right, and the few of us who have been fortunate enough as men to get over the stigma attached to men writing poetry especially poetry of romance, passion, heart out pouring etc, have often done it with a lot of pain attached that is not always obvious from our readers. Poetry and the den allow us to open up to those who we know will not ridicule.
You are correct...we men do not see that beauty within us. I only see the beauty that the Creator has endowed in woman...Her physical beauty, her compassionate heart and soul and her calm gentle manners with a great capacity to love so purely.

Once I was on a medical board and a professor of medicine explained to me the beauty of man (he was not gay, just clinical). Me, I dare not look at myself, old, sagging and fat. Great poem. Victor
"I see you, feel you, I treasure the treasure"... and that's why I'm always, always telling him, that man, my love... how so very beautiful he is, inside and out!

Yes, indeed, and I think that applies to women as well. And I've always marveled at the fact that in many animal species, the male is the more colorful. Nature truly is fascinating.
Men are more sensitive and fragile than any woman.
It is always the female of a species that is the stronger.
