this has been quite a week
you know of which I speak
its been one of those years
filled with political fears
and a dark desire for revenge
maybe a house cleaning binge
boot em all out
know what I’m talking about?
tell em all to just kiss it
no jobs, no way to pay bills
defaulted mortgage what a thrill
we'll all be living under bridges
sleepin in abandoned rusty fridges
they bled us all dry in tax
lied about the pertinent facts
gonna light up my Cuban cigar
crank up my gas guzzlin ole car
drive up to capital town
find out what’s really goin down
and tell em all they missed it
now they can kiss it
here in the South can’t find gas
guess this poem will have to pass
as the vehicle of my displeasure
for incompetence beyond measure
you say I show no respect?
those who don't earn it I reject
wearing only my hat.. what a disgrace
here’s my posterior presented
in those politicians' face
You go girl! Amen! We need some fundemental shake-ups in the current political structure. Hard to do when all that folks in power want to do is maintain it without thinking of any common good.
Cute Belle. I needed this today; at least I smiled for a change. Still think my plan to bail out every bona-fide US taxpayer instead of AIG would work just fine. From what I read here on The Den, we could all sure use a little help right about now. But no George, bail out the banks and finance companies that created this mess in the first place with their ludicrous interest rates, late charges and over limit fees. I think it's time for the second American Revolution my friend. I know for a fact that Obama is not the answer for this country's problems and McCain probably isn't either. God help us all.
Lol, just what I needed! That's why I love freedom of speech. Like Karla said, nothing gets doen but the tax hike. That's why I don't vote, I don't these men, and they don't know me. Can I get a loan from Obama? I don't have a job, am disabled, almost homelss if it wasn't for my kids. Can I get dime, McCain? Will they answer my cry for help? Hoemless children? Still homeless. Does our vote count? Mine hasn't helped me yet!
Just maybe some of the folks who've changed their tune since we elected them need one or two of those boots up thier collective asses.

Amen, La Belle, same old political gobbledegook and NOTHING gets done, unless it is for THEIR agenda and greed, phooey! to the rest of us. Does our vote even matter? Hope so ... outstanding, in your face (rear?) right (write). Well done!
While Debtors prisons no longer exist, many people continue to be persecuted for crimes related to poverty or inability to repay money owed to municipalities. This practice remains in an injustice that needs to be rectified.
