To all of you who have continued to read my work, a big thank you. There has been a death and a critical illness in my family within the past few weeks. I hope to be back, as usual, soon to read and comment. I miss all of you.

Young Girls And Old Women
By La Belle Rouge

young girls dream of tiaras
knights on white horses
a long white wedding gown

old women dream of filling
a gaping hole in their souls
with love they haven’t found

of days idyllic by the sea
or warm mountain cabin’s
shelter in new fallen snow

girls dream of world travel
but old women only imagine
the places they’ll never go

so many luminous fantasies
live waiting before the young
and lie dead behind the old

years quickly passing by ‘til
spring and summer’s heat
becomes bitter winter’s cold

and still she dreams of love
remembering lifetimes past
spring will return once more

frozen winter never lasts

A sad and wistful poem, but still with Hope! I hope to grow into an older woman who does all the things my heart still yearns to do..and the Hopeful line 'frozen winter never lasts'...has made me even more determined..
I truly hope your heart is healing Belle...

You and I are the little rosebuds that were denied the chance to bloom and become the beautiful roses we were intended to be, to be adored and savored by that one special man that possessed the power to set us free. LOVE! Sissy

I am so sorry for the loss of your familys loved one...But I understand the grief of leaving behind youth and its innocence...though you must admit...young girls are not women until they grow older and mature with dignity and grace. Where does that leave you and I? We live life in dreams where age disappears for it reveals who we really are inside...does it not? There are realities that rattle our bones but no one and nothing can take away our fantasies and how our hearts truly ring.
Be well
Love

Oh, Belle, I'm so sorry for your pains. We miss you too, but understand that you are doing the best thing, right where you are and where you're more than needed. Love, hugs and prayers go with you. I am in a very painful place with my own grown-up daughter at the moment as she is totally paralysed with irrational fear - such a robbery when she should be out living life to the full ... this look at our feminine relationships goes right to the core of my heart today. Together, woman is strong. Bless you, Baby xx

If we are now old women, we surely understand the hopes and dreams of being a young girl...we lived them... as old women....we can speak of them and remember them ALL with mixed emotions....yet we have experienced life haven't we? good writing ... lindalaw
