Do You Ever Miss Me?
By La Belle Rouge

I thought,
someday, I’d finally hold you
feel your heart beat against mine
taste distilled desire on your lips
as you gathered me into your arms
those arms that often stretched out
beyond miles of cruel impossibilities
to enfold me in the security of love

I thought,
our bond would remain unchanged
simplicity of “ always being there”
friends and lovers who would not
forsake the treasure of such rapport
I never left but you have vanished
too busy or apathetic to communicate
with someone who is only a memory

I think
about you still, at odd times tears
form in my eyes for what once was
and still could have been, I wonder
where you are and if you are lonely
like you were when we first touched
across the void of years and miles
do you ever think of me....miss me?

Probably time, like a dense fog, has enfolded his true being and kept him in wishes white shadows where light is when you open your eyes. I think that yes, he misses you when he takes a breath moment between slaying demons...and wonder, if...

I don't think we'll ever hit our quota of these poems- whatever that may be.
Another light on the Chritmas tree perhaps...
Beautiful expressions always,

The sad poignancy of this one tears at the heart strings of all of us who for one reason or another had to walk away from love that cannot be. You capture this topic well and I am sure in his heart he thinks of you often and with deep affection.

WoW! Michael has a way with words, huh? This is such an oft-told tale, but it is always new to the one writing it for the first time. Sometimes, if possible, it is better to figure out how to put hopelessness behind us and, as they say, "Move on." Whoever the hell "they" are.

Not particularly -- but I do sometime miss your writing! Problem: you're so prolific and stylistically varied that one should read you regularly to catch the stuff he/she likes best. Unfortunately I only have time to drop in now and again.
But I'll be back eventually (Happy New Year if I don't see you)

I can relate completely with what you have expressed in this compelling write, Belle. Love and best wishes to you,

Belle, I can truly relate to this poem! I wrote a poem similar just the other day! Are we hopeless romantics? Or just poetic romantics with hearts of gold.
Much peace, love, and light,
Happy New Year,
