I am moving some of my poetry to a new volume for publication. This one came up today and I thought of Georg. Bon Voyage to one of the best friends my life was ever blessed with.
Love Is Like The Ocean
Love is like the ocean
waves gently, unendingly
caress the shore
gulls of gold on wings of sunshine
ships anchored safe in moor
Love is like the ocean
with placid, protected harbors
secret, tranquil coves
hidden close to her shores
waves rock weary sailors to sleep
sea breezes open doors
to waking dreams of sea nymphs
and gods of fathomed deep
the moon reflected in her waters
silent, lofty vigil keeps
Love is like the ocean
sometimes fierce and free
huge waves dashing vessels
gulls and ships alike from turmoil flee
when storm and untamed winds
disturb the peaceful sleep
of seamen being pounded with
salty spray driven up from the deep
Love is like the ocean
infinite and vast
encompassing our future
our present and our past
and when into that unknown future
we must sail to find our rest
love will be like an ocean
and bear us softly upon her breast

So much love and how tranquil the moment to always remember how much of himself Georg shared with everyone. May we never forget his precious gift and embrace the essence of the man he was....
A wonderful metaphor for love. We come from the sea and all of our moods and energy are genetically ingrained from its ever-changing moods, from tranquil peace to fierce violence. You write so well it makes me feel like those days of love on the sea.

And love is the emotion I experience as I read this tribute, this expression of love for Georg. No one could have expressed the emotion better Belle. Belle, Yes, I have been trying to get on AD all day apparently it was being renovated..I certainly agree with you, Georg was the perfect friend, author and human being.
