Be Happy While Ye Live For Ye’ll Be a Long Time Dead
By La Belle Rouge

Be happy as ye can in the midst of the years
Try to produce more smiles than ye do tears

Life is much too short and eternity is very long
Even if you‘re tone deaf, sing yourself a song

Make all ye can and save all ye make, to be rich
Don’t get too drunk on whiskey and lie in the ditch

Be happy while ye live for ye’ll be a long time dead
Thoughts of sweet by and by running through your head

Live the day with your might, don’t wait for tomorrow
Find your way out of pain and run past all the sorrow

Love to live and live to love, learn to please your lassie
Do not wed a dull one but one who’s classy and sassy

Ye’ll be a long time dead so live well while ye can
And when ye die they’ll say, “He was a prudent man”

I agree with this philosophical perspective and I am currently trying to live it. It's not just up to me, though. ☻ Thank you for sharing this gift, Belle. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

You are one classy, sassy lassie! Scotsmen (and Scotswomen) sure to how to live. While I enjoy good bourbon, I never imbibed too much, got enough sleep, and was frugal, making me healthy, wealthy and sometimes, wise.

I just can't figure out why that Scotsman is kicking his sheep. I know there is a joke there somewhere but I'm trying to figure out what it is. Is it a parallel to "kicking the bucket?"
