I LOVE THIS SHARING AND THE PICTURE MATCHES PERFECTLY. I LIVE IN GEORGIA SO YOU KNOW WHAT'S IT'S LIKE, BUT I BEAT THE THURST OF THE HEAT. HOW? I'M EIGHT STORIES UP WITH 'BIG' SCREEENED WINDOWS! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
You have certainly expressed and shared well your experience with the "dog days" of summer, Belle. Makes me glad it has been a cool summer so far here; unlike last summer. Love and best wishes,
I'll gladly take the dog days of summer over the debilitating freeze of winter and its accompanying landscape of gray and brown. Other than snow the environment in my part of the world is bleak windy and foreboding. Life seems to be in hibernation in winter. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Well, you have touched a nerve with me. Yes, I agree, it is much like August...has been all this month, and yes, I do believe it goes back to June as well. When I tell people that I hate August, they look at me like I'm from some unknown land they've never heard about. As we speak, I am sitting in my sunroom, with the a/c turned on, I believe 70 and all three ceiling fans spinning like tops. What's more, when we get into August, all the plants begin to look puny, dew stays on the grass all day, keeping me from mowing the yard, and the humidity here in West Virginia has no mercy on us poor souls. Did I tell you I hate August? If I didn't, then I can holler louder. Right now I can't imagine having sand in unwanted and unnecessary places. May the chill be with you soon.
I don't know about Louisiana, but I know Savannah. And i was standing on the street corner yesterday...I saw Mel Gibson's old girlfriend standing right over there. She lifted up her long tail black skirt and a snake started chasing me!!!!!
I'm just to the west of Jerry. Like always, Louisiana is getting the rain and we are getting the heat. I'm far from getting sand in places it shouldn't. But 15 minutes under this Saharan dust filtered sun, and I'm getting a burn like I haven't since I was a stupid teenager. So it looks like these dog daze will drag on until November or so, interrupted by a hurricane or two.
Sorry to have to inform you, but down here in the bowels of south Louisiana we have been having a LOT of days that it hasn't climbed out of the eighties. We have been having a lot of thunderstorms, and that has helped. In fact one is on the way to us right now. In the morning when I walk Zoe, it is in the seventies. I know it will surely start getting summer-time hot soon, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

Those dog days when I was young swept by me without a care.
