SILENCE

Our words, they express our thoughts
they reveal wisdom....or foolishness
if I gift them to you, I impart
to you a part of my soul
a breath of spirit

disrespect of my communication
is disrespect of my humanity
dishonor of God's spark
of life within me
mute-worthy

my strong aura and feeble words, all
I have to offer another in this realm
you have never valued them
so now I keep silence
silence is golden

love is not dead because of silence
fractured, shattered, dying
only quietness preserves
what may yet remain
of wounded love

"Silence is golden." In your poem's case, you seem to be making a statement about remaining silent to someone you believe who has abused you, either in writing or in speech. That's what we have liable and slander laws for. A way to redress without remaining silent.

When we remain silent when being abused, particularly politically, the abuser gains power. History has shown that abusers like Hitler and Stalin can become a threat to the entire world if we don't speak up.

That is why I am responding strongly to your poem of your conviction. If we don't speak up when being abused, no one else will.

Silence is an affliction with endless pain. There is no antidote. Suffering is not optional. Scream, scream into that cold dark night. Awaken the silencers.

Sometimes, silence is the best response to those who try to offend us. We keep silent and move on so they don't get the satisfaction in seeing us being provoked by their thoughtless words. The loss is theirs.

THIS is one hell of a write, my sweet friend. The thing is if we do what many think we should do, "they" will have won. S-o-o-o Keep writing, keep doing what needs to be done. That's how I feel about it, maybe I am wrong, but that's how I feel.

Love lost, love displaced or our false sense of being loved. Why do we give our love to those that never deserve or want it? We permit them to make us appear near to them, needed by them when we are not. Many of us have fallen into this heart breaking scenario because we trusted someone that sought only to use or control us. It is an affair of the heart that devastates us because we gave our love honestly and they gave only that which they felt was necessary to keep us involved and faithful to them. The pain of reality shatters our spirit and shakes our faith in others to a point we find trusting another as a mate is the challenge of our life. Too bad some of us did not examine those relationships at the onset instead of plunging head long into faux love? Our survival and life long happiness depended on that one choice, and it will take some of us a lifetime to either cope with it of if we are among the rare, find our true love and spend our remaining time with them.

Your words express the value of our thoughts and words.....each unique and holding a strength no other power could ever fathom. I truly value this poem. I understand.

Love ya!

Jane
