Quiet breeze caress me, please
At the end of a stress-filled day
May everyone who my face sees
Be softly soothed along life's way
In the Winter of years let no tears
Be shed for the springtime past
Dry your eyes, calm your fears
No dark sorrow forever shall last
Be at peace in all you think or do
Let serenity be your life's prize
As said,to thine own self be true
Not bitter from betrayals or lies
Lifetimes pass, people come and go
Be settled in the truth you know
LaBelle: I hereby swear or attest, as the case may be that you are one of the finest writers at the Den. This is just another of many fine examples of how so much can be "said" with spare, yet beautiful words. I will never forget how you were the one of the very first who welcomed me when I stumbled into the Den, really not knowing poop from apple butter. It was with your and others encouragement that allowed me to find myself and really cut loose and I will always be in your gratitude. Thank you, thank you! I would not be where I am right now without people like you. As you know, I but a mere Uneducated High Plains Cajun Poet, stranded in a Stagnant Backwater in the Exact Geographic Center of the Middle of Nowhere, which is exactly where I want to be ....
A wise, calming, and spiritual poem of the highest order.
P.S. I wonder why I never come upon a beautiful lady along the shore just waiting to have her hem adjusted?
You have an uncanny talent for writing perfectly rhymed and metered poems that convey wonderful clear and lovely messages to the reader. In this case, telling the reader that age and experience will help a person calm from stressors that build up during heavy activity that are unnecessary and harmful in our lives. In the end, calm should overcome our fears.
