I love cats. I had one that would lay on top of my monitor while I typed away. It would occasionally jump down on the keyboard and erase hours of work. I learned to save my work as I went. Enjoyed this poem.

MY SON LOVES ANIMALS, ESPECIALLY DOGS AND CATS. HIS PAST LANDLADY HAD A CAT THAT SHE WASN'T TAKING CARE OF. HE AND THE CAT GREW VERY CLOSE AND HE WAS VERY DISHEARTENED WHEN AFTER HE MOVED, HE HEARD THE CAT HAD RUN AWAY...PROBABLY LOOKING FOR HIM. You've painted a beautiful picture of how men love their cats with your poetic skill. I applaud you.

I like cats who do their job like those in the barn keeping vermin at bay. But I find that a cat kept in an apartment or in a very urban environment, is being punished by their lack of exercise and natural food that cats are very good at catching.

Cat hair can be a real nuisance and cat urine, even with a proper cat box is not a pleasant aroma to breathe in.

Most of all I love the wild cats for their ability to survive even though some are endangered by the greed for filling our superstitious wishes for greater potency and the feel and look of of dead cat skin.

Love it and thanks for your generous thoughts. I had a cat in my day, picked up as a 4-week old while living in the Middle East, Mimi, a tough desert calico cat. She lived for just under 25 years before passing quietly away.

Although I am not a cat person...prefer dogs I love the write and appreciate the words you use to describe this subject. Well done.
