Lunacy lagoon
I flow
Aging weathered driftwood........

Poem Artwork

AGING WEATHERED DRIFTWOOD

Across the foggy bay

Ancient lighthouse beckons

Through gale and harbor mist

Deathly still

Borrowed passage unknown

Treacherous rocked strewn current

Majestic presence looming

Just beyond the sacred reef

Lunacy lagoon

I flow

Aging weathered driftwood

Flotsam and jetsam

Tidal moonlit ebb

Reviewing my life’s story

Starry evenings wake

Boiling it all down

To bite sized metaphors

Select precious moments

Those that were worth a damn

My journey has been long

Self imposed cilice

Finally reaching the trade winds

No room for armchair critics

Misguided soothsayers

This trip I must make alone

Razors edge of life and death

It’s about true impact upon others

Positive contribution

Ionized exhortation

Constructing self esteem

Kind hearted empowerment

Depths of a brilliant smile

Cheerful eyes that penetrate

A lasting legacy of love

On the fringe is where I shall stay

Until my purpose here is served

I consider life a great adventure...in the hope of finding my true purpose. Hills and valleys, sometimes mountains too high to tackle...but tackle I must, for beyond might just be that "purpose" I was trying to discover. Yours is a beautiful example of trying to find and fulfill your purpose. Hope this makes sense!

God Bless
Lena

Bill, a beautiful poem. A beautiful form of art, driftwood and its formation through the cycle of time...

Very nice ... and 'driftwood' is a wonderful work of art..formed by time ... trials... and testimony...

I so enjoyed your journey and recognize your resting place...
