HUMAN KINDNESS

Bloody nose of poverty

Insulting disregard

Leaves us wounded in dishonor

Without deaths convenience

Roaring wave of indignation

Crashing down with brutal force

On maimed self esteem

Bitter thoughts of failure

Invade fragile wary minds

Incessant hunger pangs

Deeply pounding

Indecent existence uninvited

Wretched

Deplorable

Dismal

Humility ushers hope

Human kindness can rescue misery

Through acts of charitable sacrifice

To walk in shoes of urgency

Breeds patient insight

Our arms extended in loving mercy

Christ’s greatest triumph
