SUE (For my cherished Grandmother)

Hydrangeas

Bulbous

Nikko blue

Dot the lush veranda

Antique rocking chair

Birch throne of honor

Where she once swayed sedate

Her kindness

Legendary

Adored

By countless souls

The years

A blur

Ancient bedroom eyes

Satisfaction sweet

Resting now

Peaceful bliss

On clouds of angels breath

A true grandson's tribute to a great grandmother. I can relate to that. Thanks for this offering.

Lovely tribute. I especially enjoyed your use of little snippets of thoughts/reflections that framed our picture of grandmother Sue.

This touched me deeply Bill. She sounds so much like my grandmother. She worked in her flowers until the day she died at 83. The flowers are constant reminders of the beauty of our grandmother's life and love. Wonderful poem.

Bill, what a beautiful poem, it brings a tribute to your grandmother that only you could bring from memories of the past. Great images, voice of sincerity and a great flow. Loved it!

A very touching write my friend, you've reminded me of my own grandmother, how she loved the hydrangeas and the rocking chair on the front porch. Such wisdom she blessed us with, only I didn't really come to appreciate that until later in life...I cherish the moments that I shared with her as I grew older, a wonderful write...thank you for a beautiful trip down memory lane and back in time....you've penned it from the heart, could feel it within every word. Enjoyed this my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Bill,

Beautiful. Your Gramma loved flowers, as did mine: you brought back pleasant memories of my own. Thank you, well done!
