***FICTION***

Please keep me in your prayers--the pain is driving me crazy--

Poem Artwork

I see it when I look in the mirror,
The monster that lurks within,
It watches me watching it look at me,
The monster under my skin,

I claw myself, trying to cut it out,
But the monster will not leave,
Everything is colored in shades of pain,
My God, there is no reprieve,

The monster of pain consumes me in heat,
A roaring, burning fire,
It strings up my muscles and nerves for food,
My demise, its desire,

The monster has murdered what was once me,
I am no longer the same,
My body has become the monster's lair,
It takes pleasure in my pain,

The monster examines me with its eyes,
And what it sees is ugly,
I must find a way to kill the monster,
I have to get rid of me...

My prayers are with you Karla! Why all the pain? Pain like Monsters can be controlled with the right medicine so I'm told but the best medicine is already in you, it is that power you must draw upon! Get better soon.

A horrific poem, brilliantly done, to match the occasion, Karla!
I'm so sorry you have no relief.Having had a
pinched nerve in two different places, I know the agony.
I got some relief with ice. Uncomfortable to begin with but
it does numb it at least for a short time. Still have you
in prayer!(((((hugs))))))
