Guess God had other plans. ....

Poem Artwork

So I said, 'I'll never live
in Texas.'  Joined the Air Force,
knew that Basic Training was
in San Antonio and
so was advanced schooling, if

I wanted to follow my
chosen field.  Figured after
Basic, I'd be on my way
to Alaska or Japan
or Australia (what I'd put

on my dream sheet). Direct
duty assignment:  Carswell
Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas.
After I got out, never left:
guess God had other plans.

So I said, 'I'll never see
Alaska and came up with
a million excuses as
to why not:  'Can't afford' chief
among them.  And the lack of

transportation another
one:  how was I going to
get there?  Long walk from Texas.
And so I'd read all I could
find about The Great Land and

dream ... maybe one day.  It would
take a miracle for them
to come true .  And then, God blessed
my twin sister and I with
the trip of a lifetime ... I

am still in awe.  I've learned to
never say 'Never,' because
you don't know what God has planned
for you.  And all I can say
to answered prayers ... 'Thank You, God.'

God handles it all in the long run. I know that first hand and I know He won't give me more than I can handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much. Glad you finally got to Alaska.
