of this worlds shame here, and often times it had nuthing to do with being drunkthat is the sad part...i was told by a friend (male)that in the nature of man he can sense a young girl blooming in equaled it to something good tastyin the oven...i wasn't horrified but our other female friend was, he said touching babies he couldn't rationalize that, he said nost men have inside them though to know that it is still off limits, to not cross that line but at the rate it is happening i can't agree sad horrible write

OMG Karla! My heart breaks....when will the world learn..when will children truly be protected..when..when? This should be plastered on all bill-boards maybe then the horror will finally be recognized and something done about this horror that plagues the world...
How anyone can do this to their very own child (especially if the child happens to be disabled in any way) is just sick, and it is beyond my comprehension! Powerful and heartwrenching write; well done, Karla!

You are still the special writer you have always been, speaking up for those who can't speak for themselves. I've always loved and admired that gentle and yet so strong spirit about you Karla. Alcohol can and has destroyed so many peoples lives. I listened to a sermon the other day about Abraham Lincoln.. And they said that the day he died, he had stated that since they had conquered slavery the next thing that the country needed to counquer was alcohol. I thought that it was interesting - that the night after making that statement he was killed by someone who had spent his day drinking. And the reason that person got close enough to kill him was because the guard who was supposed to be guarding the door to the booth had slipped away to the saloon across the street for a drink or two.
Just imagine if that guard hadn't gone to get those drinks - I wonder what would have been different about our countries history.

That picture will haunt me for the rest of my life. You have taken a most tragic topic and given it a voice, a loud beautiful voice. What courage and conviction. You inspire me. :)
Thank you for this, Karla. You give a voice to every person who has never been able to speak for themselves. Reading this gave me such a sick feeling inside as I thought of those sweet babies who will go to their grave keeping the secrets of their tormented and tarnished lives. Molestation is one of the greatest human tragedys.

Yes it is a powerful message and one that should be told until others get the point.
How a man or woman can do this to their own child is beyond understanding, yet it happens much more than we even know of according to some reports. I don't think they get the proper punishment. Our judicial system is a broken, and no one wants
to fix it. Excellent write Karla!
