Chanti's articles on abuse inspired this one. There's no excuse for abuse of ANY kind, for any living creature, man, woman, child, animal. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Time to end it, now.

less than zero, less than the lowest common denominator adds up to someone, abused:
who hears how worth.less, who hears how stupid, who hears worth.less, who hears good for nothing ...
words as painful as fists: jut as hard, just as brutal, these words slapped in rage: just can't see the scars.

I loved the "naked" posture of this work. You have made alive these feelings from this abuse. "words as painful as fists".....sometimes the scar tissue fron this never heals in ones ears.

Your intro says it ALL. NO abuse is tolerable. The abuser is the one with the problem, not the victim.
Abusers should receive punishment equal to or greater than a murderer, in my opinion.
Karla, you have a heart of shining gold. I thank you for reading my article 'Broken Child' and for responding and joining forces to fight against abuse. Yes, it does have to stop. You also responded to an earlier article I'd written 'No excuse for abuse' about mental / emotional abuse and you've so clearly defined how this insidious behaviour breaks down a person's moral fabric and leaves them feeling vulnerable and insecure. Nobody should ever be made to feel worthless. Each human being has value.

Short and succinct. The point is clear. Anyone who abuses living things, be it an adult, a child, or animal ( Michael Vick can rot in hell) is below cockroach and deserves to be staked out and left for ants to do what they do.

I'm inclined to agree with Georg, except with a few more body parts added to the list of those to be chopped off. And one more very important thing..... Shame on those who know of abuse and never call the authorities; as well those who close their eyes and ears because it sickens them to think of such things! How are they helping? Emotional abuse is worse than physical...The body can heal, but the mind remembers every word and lives every word.
The scars live deep inside and eventually does emerge at a later date, usually when they have children of their own and the cycle continues...It is that cycle that needs to be broken and the abuse will start to subside.
Thank you for an awakening, I was a childhood victim of both verbal and physical abuse. I chose to stop the cycle and I have very healthy children...
