we, the electorate, are guilty of a major offense, apathy is the crime for which we have been paying too long -- let us all take an oath to fight for those that will represent us as we want to be represented -- not as special interest money and greedy, corrupt politicians want to represent us -- 2010, the onset of our next major opportunity to cleanse Washington, DC of the Politburo members!
May the dim bulbs be one day bright... we can't give up.. I know there are so many hurting.. this nation is in a mess.. Pray for one and all.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just write in who we would like to serve and sit in the seat of government?? Be it president, senator or congressmen?? There are so many good people out there that could do a much better job, but it is the horror tales and the unwarranted investigations that keep them from running. Corruption beyond corrupt! Now I sit and wait to see Nero playing his fiddle....

I hate to see you so down, Karla. If most of us have so far survived the past 8 years, I think we should at least try to give the next 4 a chance. We've come through bad times before. I agree now seems like a good time, however we still have lots of work to do! Let's not forget He told us to pray without ceasing,and I know we don't do that. He told us to pray in spirit and in truth. Do we do that? This takes firm intense commitment, do we have it? Rant after my own heart... I make it a habit of doing "ranting exercises" on paper so that it helps me when I'm having issues....on paper it's safer...and still can be creative and let my hair down all in one swift brush of the pen! Good job... lots of issues covered. lindalaw
It may be a rant but at least it is one with merit, todays choices may be slim for elections, economy, and hopes but...
take a walk to the day care nearest you and sit on a bench as the little children play...they are what keep my hopes alive for tomorrow. They, with our help may change the world to the way it was meant to be...

Yep -- NOW would be GOOD!!!
When was the last time I saw a politician I could truly support? When was the last time I saw a government headline that was good news? Right here in Bowie County (Yay Texas!!!) we boast 700+ churches. When was the last time I ever heard of one of those churches working to get the thousands of Texarkana homeless back on their feet? Down here at the grass-roots, we are so divided and individually self-serving that we produce and sustain that miasma topside which we call government.
Yep, we need a few bars of Jesus smashing the money-lenders, re-energizing our churches, some butt-kicking topside, and NOW would be good :-)
Karla: Though times are bad we mustn't give up hope. Jesus was all about hope. As for me, I'm hoping that whoever gets elected tomorrow will suprise me with heretofore unseen wisdom and compassion for the American people, and a chary eye for the rest of the world until we take care of our own.
It is truly sad the state of affairs our country has plummeted to. America as we once knew it is gone. When our forefathers wrote the constitution, it created a coalition of beliefs that became the foundation and strength of America. Now, there are those who would use a jackhammer to that foundation in the name of "change".
Hey, hey... there's still family :0) they can't take that away. And, I'm sure the electorial vote will take care of the majority of the Texan's votes anyhow... vote Constitutional. Who knows, it may send the two parties a message. --Charlie
I know right where you're coming from, Karla, and yet I also know that it's when we stop being stoic and cease to utter the empty platitudes, getting honest with God and with each other, then that's a good place for divine intervention to take hold. Ultimately, the love by which the universe is sustained will not allow the dimly burning flame to be quenched. Every day is an opportunity for hope, as others have said.
