The sky is bigger than I'll ever
be. Meaner. Full of black
clouds reaching down to pull
me apart. Think I'm over the
fear and then something like
Texas/Louisiana/Mississippi/
Alabama/Georgia happens ---
the storms still raging across
the countryside. I'm sick ---
angry. Broken hearted at the
loss of life and property ---
don't think prayers will even
help. What was it? Why
did they die? Complacency?
It won't happen here? It did,
over and over. Overpopulation?
Perhaps: mankind getting in
the way. People wanting to
see the storm, watch what it
did? Look at all the videos ---
too close for comfort. Lack of
adequate shelter? No where
to run, no where to hide?
Regardless of how they died,
they died --- too damn many.
If this isn't a warning not to cut
the budget, what is? What is
the value of one life worth?
Karla, please do not give up the faith my dear friend. You live in an area where the weather is more of an opponent than a friend. Please remain alert. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael
Your picture tells they story - the fury of nature can not be explained other than God sending a reminder that he is watching and does not like what he sees. We have to stop, we need to start sharing the L.O.V.E. he gave everyone us to share. Free will is a killer if you don't know how powerful the wrong use of it can be - as for the poetry. Powerful as always. I am so sorry for the lives lost to this. On a little note, I am glad you are still here, I missed reading you!
Very powerful and strong words Karla. But all we have is our faith and I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. Maybe they died because it was their time. Who is to say when our time will come? There are no guarantees in life, and our bodies are so frail and we are only human. You have written a box fullof dynamite with blasting caps attached. Thank you for sharing.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie
Very powerful and thought provoking write. I wish there was something that could be done, prayers DO work miracles. Our nation needs prayer and a healing.
Powerfully penned anguish and heartbreak in your words, and that sky looks like it really means business. So sad; my prayers are with those affected by this horror! And yes, I think storm shelters or safe rooms should be MANDITORY for ALL who live in areas where there are none! God help us ALL! :(

This has certainly been a very bad tornado season, I have to agree with you, Karla. Bad. So many deaths in the last couple of weeks. You can't run from a damn tornado, it is usually on you before you can move. And where do you run to? They follow no normal pattern. I would hesitate blaming budget cutting on this awful thing that has happened.
