Moi?

Poem Artwork

That’s what I was called the other day.

Thought I was just doing it my own way.

But the naysayer done  had a PHD,

Well credentials are ok by me.

I wasn’t the one wearing the Armani suit,

And a pair of Gucci shoes to boot.

I'd told him I was a poet,

Of course he didn’t know it.

Then I gave him a card that showed it.

www.authorsden.com with my name on top.

I said if you find the time then stop,

And  take a look and you will see,

Because I am for real, and that is me.

So put me in your box if you must,

I don’t see where’s all the fuss.

If liking who I am makes me a narcissist,

Then one be ………I must.

I hate people who think their crap is perfume
When I say I write poetry they give me a once over
then again most never dabble in the arts
I have a few of those idiots in my own family
when they ask sarcastically how you doing with your poetry,
My respond is, I am in the internet, have published about 800 some odd pieces, why don't you check them out ending that conversation
without a by your leave
Peace

William

Excellent response Walt! Be yourself and forget those who can't understand or have a need to pick apart someone because they have no qualities of their own.

Wit-wise composition... "Narcissist" stands for defending its subject dealt's view of ontologic, artistic and social strata. A satire that pays its dues to Poetry.

It's not that we love ourselves, why we are trapped in a mentality that has to write, LOL, why can't ppl just channel their energies into their own talents and give credit where credit is due....
I don't even have a pond i can look into anyway, HAHA.
Love this
