I dedicate this poem, to all those that participate in the Special Olympics and to all those who would like to be given the opportunity to do so
Do you ever wonder where they get
the strength to compete,
how their heart can swell up with
so much pride,
when they go on that ride.
There are many that tell them
to give up the fight.
You don't even have your sight
or your legs don't work right or
your hands don't reach out
quite far enough.
It is so tough when all those
around you are so perfect, but
that is why God made you.
Just to prove to them, that you can do
whatever your heart desires.
So let those fires burn bright,
never give up the fight!
and God will give you the
strength to compete.
Very nice, you show love, compassion and strength within the thoughts on how many who can take from less and make more through qualities many have not....
It is always an indeed pleasure to read such remarkable and well written work here on the den. Keep writing and wishes of all success to you in all that you do.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
a very nice work .....Art Sun...
