[After BRIDGES (2002), gesso-duro
relief by Bozena Happach]
Sometimes we create barriers.
Lack of a kind word, holding back, refusal?
A lingering resentment–– unfortunate turn of phrase?
Love and friendship suffer, when obscured by haze…
Yet a raised hand can halt the northern wind.
Or a child's presence? A smile? Tiny bridges…
But mostly open arms, that elusive grace
that comes from undemanding, maternal embrace.
Well written and to the point. I agree that we often create barriers, often invisible ones at that. Our attitude, sometimes unknown to us spills over in to our language, the words we choose which offer a river of grace or a wall of subterfuge.

Oh and how I wish my mother was here to give me a hug! I know your words speak truth...all roads lead home, regardless of how many bridges we cross to get back...oneday, we'll be home again...Back in my mother's arms...with alittle help from "Dad!" :)
Got me thinking...LOL!
