This poem is about what women first see after they have been abused
Battered Images
When the abuse had ended the memories dies. But the scars are still left behind . Scars of ignorance and scars of fear are implanted in the image I see when I look into the mirror. Who am I and who is this woman looking back at me. I don't know her I've never seen her before. She is the stranger I see in myself.A woman who's been and tormented of not knowing why.My face is scarred now of an image I thought I would never see. An image of a battered woman loking back at me. When I look into the mirror.Even though the abuse has ended the everlasting scars remain. These are the hardest as women we have to face. The battered image we see is an image that still remains.
