Water Dance

What to do? Molly mused. I am so not amused.
This old rawhide alas will not play!

A game I must make for my sanity’s sake.
Inspiration shall not go astray!

Perhaps if I try, my cool water will fly
From its bowl and bring fun to this day.

Her plume tail waved high, brown eyes shone bright
As her antics were put on display.

But the water stood still, for it had not the will
To rise up from the bowl where it lay.

So she barked and she bowed in a manner most proud
But the water just would not obey.

In a circle she leapt with a lively hop-step.
Only diffidence met her array.

So she shoveled her nose ’til the cold water rose,
And then out of the bowl it did spray.

Such joy did she feel as she danced a glad reel,
For she finally got her own way!
