Something brilliant lay undiscovered,
As I lay in the ethereal bliss,
Of that dreamstate before sleep takes over,
I know it is there,
I can almost touch it,
I can taste the sweetness,
I catch a vividly colorful glimpse,
Of what I sense is always there,
Pastel Lilies studded with Emralds,
Rainbows spanning the sky,
Shimmering folds of ivory satin,
Lavender Roses draped in lace,
Bringing a soft blush to my face,
Stargazer Lilies encrusted with jewels,
As I reach out to touch it all it is soft as feathers,
I feel it surround me as a warm blanket,
Softly caressing my skin,
Red velvet beauty,
Diamonds dotting indigo skies,
All of this ethereal beauty in my dreamstate lies...
...lucid dream...a wise unconscious mind reaching the true inner-self of dreamer's precious space with message and beauty...out of this world.
Thank you Debra for sharing your beautifully written and amazing poem of Zen-like calm...
Yes, you certainly have a pleasant way of going to sleep. I tend to just drop off into the deep. And then, sometimes near waking up, I start to have vivid dreams, but not of the visual quality that you have so eloquently described here.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
