Through closed lids
The bounty of sight
begins to fade with age
but knowledge brings insight.
Aging vision
brings forth inner wealth
wisdom from experience
reflected in an altered state.
Most light seeping through
the closed lids of wisdom
knowing more now
than through open eyes.
Peaceful vision
brings tranquility
and thoughtful notions
of love and fulfillment.
Watching through closed lids,
can be an eye opening experience
one that will be awe inspiring
To really SEE !!
author's notes: I was sitting here watching the snow fall, and closed my eyes and I could actually hear it falling. It prompted this poem.

Beautiful Amber...sight is a funny thing and I can emphazize with you hearing the falling snow once you closed your eyes and let your mind open. I had a blind guy come to see me as Santa the other day, he said you look great Santa, and I guess he sensed my puzzlement...for he added, I can't see you but I can sense you and how you look...
I close my eyes to find my father, grandparents, brother and sister, aunts etc. that have gone now. Somehow, dreaming and concentration allows us to visit again. Between the heart and our minds...we have a bountiful, forever album of love.
Susan
Thank You Amber
for this beautiful piece
But when I try doing that closing my eyes
It places me in the position of a blind person
And when I openmyeye I cant's stop thanking God enought
That I am able to see all the beauty he has created
for us to enjoy.
Occationally I close my eyes to relax and just hear my surroundings
being amplified, I do enjoy that
Love & Peace
Amber, closed lids allows one to focus in depth on the things of the past, failures, and reality. I liked this!

THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAV OF YOURS. It's a bloody keeper. I love this, i even feel on the same wavelength, if that makes sense. Top notch...
This is absolutely beautiful
And so peaceful such beauty can transport
Your mind and soul into your own piece of heaven
Your words captured such powerful imagery
And vividness I could almost see and hear
The sound of the snowflakes as they kissed the ground!!
Wishing you and your family...Love Peace and Joy...Morning Star
I like your notes there Amber as that is how I feel when it is snowing heavily and I turn the lights of and just relax with the fireplace going. I feel as though I am in a world of my own where "peaceful vision brings tranquility and thoughtful notions of love and fulfillment". Thank you for sharing.
