I was having my coffee this morning, and a young woman and her daughter inspired this poem.....

Cynthia, Brave Heart Woman

by Amber "V" Moonstone

10/4/11

Beautiful haunting eyes,
concealed beneath a baseball cap,
ravaged by the treatment,
sickened by the prognosis.

Hair once shining blonde,
like the rays of the summer sun,
eyes once deepened blue,
like the brilliance of the sky,

memories fading fast,
dashed hopes of longevity,
as the prognosis is heard
gasps of held breath.

Cynthia, Brave heart Woman,
your time on Earth has come
to a painful journey
that now comes to an end.

Last coffee break,
how to tell your child,
unspeakable words,
that stick  in your throat.

Cynthia, Brave Heart Woman,
your time on Earth has come
you face your final days
as your soul is set free

burdens unleashed,
love deeply felt,
daughter left behind,
with tender memories of you.

Your daughter embraces you tightly,
as you walk out the door,
my heart fills with grief
for Cynthia, Brave Heart Woman.

Sad, Amber. A touching piece, close to heart, for I know someone with very little time left. Thank you for sharing this.

Oh, Amber, this is just lovingly, beautifully crafted yet so utterly heart-breaking. To get that diagnosis is unthinkable, to have to helplessly leave loved ones, especially children, I can't imagine the pain!
I'll be praying for a miracle recovery for Cynthia.
Love,
Christine

The long, mostly difficult path to eternity has been walked by billions of souls, and all alone, all alone. Not one other person can walk it for you, or with you.
