So many of you beautiful ladies at AD have been my readers and encouragers, even when I am absent for long periods of time. I am writing a collection of poems that are dedicated to you. These are my gifts to you, not only for your support but in tribute to the unique and wonderful woman each of your are. This one is for Ms.Sage Sweetwater

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FIREBRAND For Ms. Sage Sweetwater she saddles up her horse of tomorrow’s yesterday and rides the wide lonely range of disavowed genius whiskey in a mason jar and several wives in tow she fires the ramshackle ruins of dead religion with the hot torch of her sharp firebrand’s tongue seasoned gunslingers quake at her lightning draw fear her perfect aim with the shotgun of honesty the world tried to break her.... damn if it didn’t all it did was pour pig iron into her dogged soul strong and free, like those wolves she lived with loyal, sensitive and affectionate to those she loves knows all about life and fools who think she don’t she is an eternal force of verve to be reckoned with earning condemnation of dried up gossips and deacons sparking admiration of kindred spirits and desperados Sage, the sage, brave purveyor of old west wonders trusty friend, companion on this long trail of infamy always obliged to share the whiskey, if not the wives DJA 3/1/2011 song blaze of glory
