So many of you beautiful ladies at AD have been my readers and encouragers, even when I am absent for long periods of time. I am writing a collection of poems that are dedicated to you. These are my gifts to you, not only for your support but in tribute to the unique and wonderful woman each of your are. This one is for Lady La Belle
she is fire in winter and summer sunsets
she infuses my world with scarlet warmth
each time her aura reaches out to touch mine
i begin to imagine bygone times and places
she tosses her long, flaming curls and glances
at me from the edge of flashing green eyes
under a fringe of dark lashes that flutter softly
red lips part in sly smile of feigned innocence
smooth alabaster skin is an open invitation to sin
and her low cut bodice reveals enough cleavage
to arouse a harem eunuch wearing a blindfold
in the smooth greeting of husky genteel drawl
she calls me such a “gentleman” and offers
her scented hand, a small sacrifice to my lips
i am undone, besotted on her jasmine scent
and i’m wondering now, is this heaven or hell?
needing to kiss more than her delicate hands
longing to scurry beneath her wide hoop skirt
run my lips over her ankles and calves and my
rogue’s tongue between silk stocking-clad thighs
reading my mind she gives me a naughty wink
but as my lips graze her hand i tip my top hat
we pass each other on poetry lane with only an
“evening miss rouge”…. “evening mr. amante”
into this stunning era
with the wardrobe & sensuality
and the very erotic explorations!

not that the others aren't good,
they're truly great,
but this is essence
and is the Belle we love.
Yes and Yes again!
