Inspired by a painting of the same name by Childe Hassam (see my previous poem)

Also inspired by my love, Richard

Poem Artwork

come now and talk to me

i need you to speak

in sunsets of seas

swimming on your tongue

my man of the waves

i crest at the high tides

with pebbles

the track to the trails

of my heart in you

born beneath

sails of red and blue

a white to fly the banner

of where we meet again

of when the reign began

of Queens in seashell clothes

i will always find you there

in that bottle upon the shore

now till forevermore

my letters in a bottle speak

to this man who helped me soar.
