This was inspired by a painting called Phryne, oil on canvas, by Brazilian artist, Antonio Parreiras (1860-1937)

Poem Artwork

Wearing yellow sunlight on the pale pink of my skin

dreaming of the feel of you as you come within

whispering into your ear of the places I will touch

pulling you atop me where the pressure is too much

tell me now, will you make love to me?

Now is not the time for us to be prudent or to be wise

a soft blush lies on my cheeks and on the backs of my thighs

your reflection stretching and eclipsing the need in my eyes

your name again to be called in my constant breathless sighs

tell me now, will you make love to me?

I want your slow kisses to burn long on my throat and my hips

moving further around the mounds of my breasts with your lips

below this thick band on my waist that’s as gold as these sheets

your tongue roaming on the round hill of my belly is so sweet

tell me now, will you make love to me?

Explore then, if you can, all the places my hand goes

please start from the bottom at the tips of my toes

delve more and more to these places much higher

where I lose all my senses in this heated desire,

Oh, my love, will you make love to me now?

I love the feeling of honesty in telling her man what she wants and how she wants it, no blushing virgin who is afraid of the touch of a man but a real woman with desires, urges, a body that is full and real, and who knows how to love, physically and mentally without submitting to tyranny of the sexes. Well done Michelle this write is absolutely sensual in the nth degree.

Ah, yes indeed . . . this wonderful poem makes me think of something a wise woman once told me about what women think when they first meet a man . . . "What kind of lover will he make" . . . This poem sorta bears that out . . . Very nicely done . . .
