Based on a painting of the same name by an incredible artist, Bryce Cameron Liston-- one of my top two favorite modern artists--here is his webpage

Poem Artwork

shadowed nights all tangled up in heated sheets

where my "I'll love you forever" escapes in the night

if staring at four pale walls would help me forget you

I'd happily beg them to show me the way right

in the day, how I play, at loving another

but at night, i dream only of you

desolation my heart's only feeling

my hands feeling a much deeper truth

they stray on their own across this body

as i pleasure myself on memories of you--

of your face and the sound of your voice

the nightdreams and kisses on view

and those words now lost to these eyes

gone to where all broken loves flew

it's not just one night of this torture

but it's every last one without you

and my bed reminds me of your absence

and the tears on my own pillow, too

imprisoned within a forced silence

too afraid to speak even a short hello

i'll forever lie in this bed thinking

of the man who is still owning my soul

No other-- though I try, to appease you

to play at this game we call life

and despair in the sadness awaiting

the day i'm another man's wife

OMW. Everyday I have these thoughts about a love I threw away.
Prison it is and, may for ever be.
One short life, is our lot, yet the perfect one is never forgot!
The lass I dated taught me life, wisdom and brought me back in to the fold. I look at her picture, say her name and pray her life will be the same as it once was.

I'm inline to join a unisex monastery, as, well, never matter.

deeply passionate and romantic poem Michelle -- you reach right in and grab the reader's emotions -- the allure is in the inference to an illicit affair -- "in the day, how I play, at loving another" -- your poem is just as artistically creative as the painting you drew your inspiration from Michele - peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

This capture of a broken heart accepting the inevitable deception and pain that true love and life can bring is one of your best works Michelle. We can no more control who we love or care for then we can control the same laws of man and nature that may separate us in the world of reality. Love though comes in many forms and no one can truly predict the future, so even if we cling to a love we cannot have we must keep our heart's door ajar for a love that may come along in the future. Wonderful work Michelle,
