Based on the painting "Calcasieu Marsh Passage," 2004, oil on canvas, by Rhea Gary

Poem Artwork

Through the end of a lens in circled states of grace
Earth meets sky to blend divisions of time and space
water rippled back and blue, ruddy leaves to bow and bend
sunlight thrown askew from nature’s beauty we extend

Waving on to further flight where heaven’s face so fair
Appears before our waning sight with no reasons to declare
The rarity and honesty in the exhaling of desire’s cost
Much easier to love and be loved, than if a love is lost

Hearken then, my one true friend, for the crow’s last call
Its flap of wings, such brilliant things, echo down the hall
In tallest trees, among mad bees, sweet memories descend
A world around us, glee has found us, broken hearts do mend

This is a wonderful piece of poetry, Michelle. Full of warmth and beauty. The painter expressed her serene state in that beautiful painting and you expressed it so well in meaningful verses. Peace and love in Christ.

Be well,
Sheri

What a wonderful blending of the many aspects of Nature's World with the many aspects of our Human Nature, leaving us with the uplifting promise "...broken hearts do mend."

Simple phrasing sharing profound insight.

A meaningful treat, Michelle. Thank you.
