Poem Artwork

Up at 5:30 after a night of tossing and turning

In the car and on the road

Before the sun arises from its bed

A quick run at the drive-thru at Starbucks!

An hour’s drive before school I reach

I’ve clock 52 road miles before I start

Seven forty five and roll is called

Out on the field, checking the oil in a semi rig

Back that rig in a straight line!

Trailer drifts left steer left

Trailer drifts right steer right

Parallel park that tractor-trailer

Shifting patterns for a 9 or 10 speed

Button down, button up, shift it now

In the city, in the country

Set up that turn, slow down!

Forty-four hours they promise behind the wheel

Backing, parallel parking, alley docking, offset parking!

140 miles under the belt

Truck driving isn’t sexy!

Ann,

It's a tough job but I'm sure you can handle it. You've already beat the isn't sexy part so the rest should be a piece of cake. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

No but the lady behind the wheel sure is. Nice to see you posting again Anne we have missed your writes. Keep up the good work in school little Mamma and make sure you blow that air horn long and steady if you see me in my red suit flashing by on my sleigh.

I don't know if it's sexy, but I've seen a few female drivers that would make a man flip. Keep on truckin'

God bless you. Kathy

Well, maybe not, but it kind of offers a feeling of accomplishment and freedom when you get to truckin down the road. Local or long haul I have always found truckers to be the most helpful when on the road.

Be safe,
Karen

What a difficult lesson you learn driving big rigs. Enjoyed

Reviewed on December 5, 2007
I admire anyone who can drive those big rigs! They scare me, especially when they are going fast. YIKES! I remember being on the highway in my little Sunbird, and one of those big rigs would fly by me. Terrifying! I was always so scared I'd (or they'd) blow a tire, or wreck out. Welcome back, Trucker Annie; you've been missed! Stop by anytime you can, and stay safe on the ol' road! Watch out for Smokies and breaker, breaker, good buddy! Very well penned!

Love your pink truck; it's pretty! :)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

If I ever see a pink truck, I'll know it's you! :) I'll wave my arms (and crutches) and holler like crazy! LOL

I know several women truckers, and I have the utmost respect for them. I couldn't do it...enjoy reading about "Life on the Road." (Love the song, too). Welcome home, you've been missed, Annie.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Did you read Georg Mateos' write about you? :)
