His eyes beamed at me
innocence and fragile nature, my son
delivered from God as an earthen vessel
The Lord of all creation

In my arms is a wonder
pictured in love---envisioned in hope
put forth in faith, to a world
a home, filled with laughter, vision,
a shelter in the woods

A father unprepared yet ready
eagerness and loving glance from a wife
to know what the future has in store

A hidden engineer, perhaps a doctor
or in the image and likeness of the Creator

Wholeness, all things are new as joy
and laughter on the crest of a wave

heightened by love
crashing into the depths
of worldly cares and strife

I am so glad you are in my life
to show me the way I should be with
My earthen father that could have been

Now a father’s love is

like a little bird hidden on a branch
singing ever so quietly
waiting, worshiping and singing the day

Here I am to say
you are wonderful to me
