We were lovers but we were never good friends
We tried it time and time again
Constantly longing for each other
Never knowing when it would end
We played games of honesty, lies and deceit
Fear possessed the necessity of our needs
Our yearning never ended
Our pain began over and over again
We were lovers but never good friends
Gone are the days of our youth into a shadow
of our dreams
As time passes it's too much to unwind
The broken pieces of the puzzle
An illusion of love blowing in the wind
We were lovers but never good friends.

This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
